Henry Hill's childhood is marked by a fascination for the mobsters in his neighborhood. Early on, he was a messenger for the mafia, but soon he rose through the hierarchy. His best friends in Paulie's "Family" become the legendary Jimmy and the choleric Tommy. Together they commit more and more serious crimes and finally also a murder of a mafia member, which Tommy will pay for with his life. After Henry has served a short prison sentence, he starts dealing drugs on his own account - and becomes an addict himself. When the police catch him, he tells them all about 30 years of mafia experience....
