28 Days Later

Their cause had good intentions, but the consequences were fatal: 28 days after militant animal rights activists freed monkeys from a laboratory, London was almost deserted - the monkeys were carrying a deadly virus.

Bicycle courier Jim (Cillian Murphy) is correspondingly confused when he wakes up from a coma in hospital after a car accident. He wanders around until he meets the two survivors Selena (Naomie Harris) and Mark (Noah Huntley). They explain to him what has happened. The virus turns people into blood-spitting, zombie-like beasts within a very short space of time.

After cab driver Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and his daughter Hannah (Megan Burns) join them, they make their way to an army of survivors who supposedly have an answer to the plague. It's not long before they are attacked for the first time...
