Birdman or (The unexpected power of cluelessness)

A cleverly told story of a superhero actor who wants to stage a Raymond Carver play on Broadway.

Riggan Thomson is drawing on his past fame as the superhero "Birdman". He wants to prove himself as a serious artist on Broadway with a play he is directing based on a Raymond Carver story. After his leading man is hit by a spotlight, Riggan finds a popular replacement who, however, has a bigger ego than Riggan and takes method acting too seriously. Trouble and nightmares ensue for the ambitious director, along with the costs, his ex-wife and mistress, a tough cultural critic and his daughter.
