Amal is a passionate teacher and teaches French at a school in Brussels. Determined to inspire her students, she wants to instill in them a love of literature, the courage to speak out and a willingness to accept one another. But not everyone likes her approach. Some students and colleagues with links to Islamic extremism see her as a threat and vehemently reject her ideas.
But Amal refuses to be intimidated. And when Monia, one of her pupils, is suspected of homosexuality and is threatened in the worst possible way, the teacher knows that she has to help the girl - even if it means putting herself in danger.
