Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies 2022
The Grateful Dead return to theaters worldwide for Meet-Up At The Movies 2022. This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Europe '72 album by bringing the previously unreleased performance at Tivoli Concert Hall on 4/17/1972 to the big screen. The sixth show of the Grateful Dead's famed Europe '72 tour took place on April 17, 1972 at the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark. This groundbreaking concert broadcast was the Dead's first major live concert broadcast and a first in Danish television history. Tivoli 4/17/72 has been fully restored and color-corrected in high definition with audio mixed by Jeffrey Norman from the analog 16-track master tapes and mastered by David Glasser, featuring nearly an hour and a half of the Grateful Dead at the height of their career. Among the show's many highlights is a survey of the Dead's 1972 touring repertoire, including great versions of "China Cat Sunflower -I Know You Rider," "Big Railroad Blues," "Truckin'" and many other Dead classics, as well as the first live performance of "He's Gone" and other new songs such as "Ramble on Rose," "Jack Straw" and "One More Saturday Night." Pigpen, who joined the Grateful Dead on their last tour, is featured on three songs, including the show's opening number, "Hurts Me Too."
