Escape from New York

In the near future: All of Manhattan is a heavily guarded prison surrounded by a 20 meter high wall, mined bridges and waterways. Inmates never get out; the law of the strongest rules. When one day the president makes an emergency landing in Times Square, there is great distress. The president has a tape in his pocket that could save the world from nuclear war, but it falls into the hands of a psychopath who organizes gladiator fights in his spare time. The newly convicted "Snake" Plessken is supposed to save the head of state. But the rattlesnake has his own plans.
