What's Love Got to Do with It?

How do you find a love that lasts? Documentary filmmaker Zoe (Lily James) hasn't found her Mr. Right yet, even with all kinds of apps. At least she's brought back a lot of funny anecdotes from her bad dates, though that doesn't comfort her impatient mother Cath (Emma Thompson) either. For Zoe's childhood friend and neighbor Kazim (Shazad Latif), on the other hand, things are clear. He follows his parents' example and chooses an arranged marriage to an intelligent and picture-perfect bride from Pakistan. As Zoe accompanies him with her camera from London to Lahore, she not only films Kazim's journey to meet a stranger his parents have chosen for him. She also wonders if this very different path to love can also point her search in a new direction.
