The new film by Mehmet Ada Öztekin shows the years 1881 to 1919 in the life of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born in Thessaloniki at the end of the 19th century. His childhood was overshadowed by the predatory raids his father
robberies to which his father was subjected there. At first, his father Ali Riza Bey's business went from bad to worse, and he died when Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was seven years old.
For his mother Zübeyde, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was the center of her world and nothing should happen to him. In the future she envisioned for her son, he was to attend a madrassa and become a scholar, in the tradition of her devout family.
But the wishes Zübeyde had for the future were but a small flame compared to the tremendous fire in young Atatürk.
Atatürk graduated from the Military Academy in 1905 as a staff captain. From 1905 to 1919, he served in various places in the Ottoman Empire, from Syria to Tripoli, from Thessaloniki to Kars. Everywhere, he saw ...
