In 1974, 70-year-old surrealist Salvador Dalí (BEN KINGSLEY) is spending a few months at the St. Regis Hotel in New York, as he does every year, with his wife and muse Gala (BARBARA SUKOWA). The young gallery assistant James Linton (CHRISTOPHER BRINEY) is surprisingly asked by Dalí to support him in the preparations for a new exhibition. And with that, the path leads directly to the dazzling DALíLAND, a world populated by models, music and film stars, and a colorful mix of high and low society. At the center is the aging eccentric artist Dalí, who impresses everyone with his genius, while at the same time revealing a touching vulnerability, especially with regard to his wife. When Gala falls for an up-and-coming young musical star and generously finances him, she not only risks their mutual ruin, but also upsets their nearly fifty-year marriage.
