Les fantômes

Hamid has fled Syria and is seeking asylum in France. He is a member of the secret Yaqaza cell: an underground network of civilians who pursue fugitive war criminals of the Syrian regime and hand them over to justice. He believes he recognises his former torturer, Harfaz, known as ‘The Chemist’, in a fellow student at the university. As he only recognises the voice and smell of his tormentor, he can only rely on his intuition. The boundaries between truth and obsession, past and present, justice and vigilante justice begin to blur.
