Everyone actually knows it and yet it always gets pushed into the background: the really important things aren't on the stupid to-do lists. When NINA (Pola Friedrichs) says at bedtime one evening: "Oh, Dad, I wish we had a million minutes. Just for the really nice things, you know?", WOLF KÜPER (Tom Schilling) gets an inkling that a million minutes spent together could possibly be much more valuable than a glittering career.
VERA (Karoline Herfurth) and Wolf Küper live in Berlin with their children, 5-year-old Nina and one-year-old Simon. Vera looks after the children and the household alongside a part-time job, while Wolf works as a scientific advisor to the UN, trying to save the world from the coming climate catastrophe. Like many others, the young family is overworked in a system that is not exactly family-friendly, which also increasingly destroys Vera and Wolf's relationship.
