Unconventional and unusual approach to the life of Bob Dylan, who is embodied by six different actors in the course of the film.
As a young vagabond, Bob Dylan, born Robert Zimmerman, struggles through life in the 1950s. His goal is to become famous, and as an aspiring folk singer he has every chance of doing so: In New York's Village, he soon becomes the figurehead of the popular scene and, moreover, an icon of the resistance movement. But Dylan refuses to live up to expectations, disturbs fans with rock and is seriously injured in a motorcycle accident.
Todd Haynes ("Velvet Goldmine") approaches the life of the 68er icon Bob Dylan with a cinematic round of six episodes from different phases of the artist's life, each embodied by six other actors, including Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett (!).
