Denmark in the 18th century: A soldier named Ludvig Kahlen follows his king's orders and wants to conquer the wild moors of Jutland - a dark no-man's-land where the most merciless enemy of all reigns alongside brutal highwaymen and ravenous wolves: Mother Nature. KING'S LAND is a large-scale, visually narrated opus about the colonization of the Danish heathlands in the 18th century, which unfolds as a duel between two men who could not be more different. Director Nikolaj Arcel stages the battle with nature as a great human drama between dreams and sacrifice, between revenge and discipline, love and loss.
