When huge, devastating floods hit London, it's every man for himself - except for one young woman (Jodie Comer), one life is more important than her own: that of her newborn baby. Her escape from London marks the beginning of an odyssey full of danger, as the whole country soon descends into chaos and the journey home becomes an ordeal in THE END WE START FROM.
It is her partner R.'s (Joel Fry) suggestion that they seek refuge with his parents (Nina Sosanya, Mark Strong) in the country. But even though they are welcomed with open arms, no rural idyll awaits them. As the world around them becomes increasingly dangerous, one stroke of fate follows another, and when the young woman is separated from R., she sets off alone with the baby. An encounter with another mother (Katherine Waterston) brings out a previously unimagined strength in her. But every encounter (Benedict Cumberbatch, Gina McKee) also harbors dangers.
