Christmas spirit? Unfortunately not! At the elite boarding school Barton Academy, the unpopular teacher Mr. Hunham (Paul Giamatti) looks after the unhappy pupils who don't know where to spend the holidays. After a few days, only one pupil is left, the rebellious Angus (Dominic Sessa). Together with cook Mary (Da'Vine Joy Randolph), they experience all kinds of strange misadventures and touching moments that bond the unlikely trio into a surrogate family against their will.
