A typhoon is approaching. In a provincial town, a group of high school students are plagued by a summer malaise. When the storm breaks, the unsupervised teenagers hole up in their school, while a classmate (Yuki Kudo) - alone on a disturbing journey to the big city - disappears.

The storm and flood rage into the night, and in this suddenly unhinged world, the students give free rein to their pent-up fears and burgeoning passions in a series of drifting, fantastical and apocalyptic scenes.
As day breaks and the rain subsides, the teenagers open their eyes to a world in ruins - or a world renewed...
