What if you could simply erase the memory of a failed relationship? With "Forget me not!", French video clip director Michel Gondry adapted a script by the brilliant author Charlie Kaufman - a visually and narratively surprising tragicomedy about the immortality of love.
Joel (Jim Carrey) is astonished when, after a long time, Clementine (Kate Winslet), who is still secretly in love with him, runs into him - without remembering him! Joel finds out that Clementine has undergone a new type of brain surgery designed to erase unpleasant memories. In order to put Clementine out of his mind, Joel resorts to the same questionable therapy, only to find himself in hot water when he changes his mind in the middle of it.
When Joel discovers that his girlfriend Clementine has erased the memories of their turbulent relationship, he contacts Dr. Howard Mierzwiak, the inventor of this method. Gradually, his memories of Clementine also disappear. The problem: Joel remembers the passion he and Clementine felt in the early days of their relationship. And now he literally can't get Clementine out of his head.
