Models Pola (Marilyn Monroe), Tütü (Betty Grable) and Tschiki (Lauren Bacall) plan their future systematically: based in a New York penthouse, they lay in wait to meet millionaires and get married. Unfortunately, fate has other plans for them, as they either end up with the wrong people or fail to recognize the right ones...

The first film to be shot in the then new CinemaScope process. But even before its release, the monumental Bible film The Robe premiered on September 16, 1953 and is therefore considered the "first" CinemaScope film.
The film contains numerous allusions to Marilyn Monroe's previous film Blondes Preferred, but also satirizes films by Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall.
Nominated for an Oscar in 1954 in the category "Best Costume Design in Color" (William Travilla and Charles Le Maire).
